Academic Affairs Weekly Email Digest

Priority 3 of MTSU Strategic Plan 2035 highlights the need for improved institutional communication. As such, the Office of the Provost seeks to ensure timely, relevant, and organized messaging to faculty and Academic Affairs staff. The Office distributes a weekly email digest to provide updates from the Division’s leadership team and highlight submitted events from its units (see Submission Guidelines below).

Email Procedures from “Academic.Affairs@mtsu.edu”

Email Distribution Schedule and Information:
Planned Distribution Day: Wednesdays (weekly as needed)

Deadline for Submitted Events: The preceding Monday by noon

Distribution Groups: Faculty and Academic Affairs Staff (the email digest does not go to students or campuswide listservs)

Submission Guidelines
All submitted content for the Academic Affairs email digest must be submitted to Academic.Affairs@mtsu.edu by the stated deadline and adhere to the guidelines listed below.

  • The email digest’s listing of submitted events is not cumulative; events are only listed once. 
  • Events are limited to campus events from official Academic Affairs units (colleges, departments, schools, centers, and offices).
  • Memorial or funeral services for current or former faculty and staff may be shared through the digest.
  • Information about fundraising opportunities, donation drives, research participants, community events, or student events will not be shared in the email digest.

Required Submission Format
Submissions should follow the standardized format below to ensure consistency and ease of compilation.

1. Event Title

2. Sponsoring Academic Affairs Unit(s) (not necessary for memorial or funeral service announcement)

3. Contact Person(s) (name and email for follow-up questions)

4. Relevant URL(s) (if applicable)

5. Event Date(s)

6. Event Time(s)

7. Event Location(s)

8. Brief Description- a concise summary (3–5 sentences) outlining the purpose and key details of the event or announcement (date(s), time(s), location(s), etc.)

Note: Images and graphics are not embedded in the email newsletter format. Please ensure all essential information is conveyed through text. Links can be provided to event graphics/flyers that are included in event submission to Academic.Affairs@mtsu.edu .

JET Workshop

Description: All MTSU students, from freshmen to graduate students, are welcome. Are you interested in living in Japan after graduation? Learn more about the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program, the only teaching exchange program managed by the Government of Japan. Tech Vision 2026
April 10, 2026; 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
Miller Education Center (MEC)

Description: Registration is now open for Tech Vision 2026, a free public event that will bring together government, industry leaders, community partners, students, and faculty to explore emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and Tennessee’s innovation ecosystem. The program will also feature a student and faculty poster session highlighting innovative research and technology projects from across campus, with awards for the top entries.
